This is the home page for the PUFFINS mailing list. The best way to
describe this list is to say that it is for "Americans with Norwegian
connections" - primarily those who are living in, or planning to move
to, Norway, or married to or living with a Norwegian. Spouses and
companions are also welcome to contribute. The list is intended as a
place to make contact with one another; it is unmoderated and almost
anything goes.
If you'd like to learn more about the list, send an empty e-mail message to:

The title of the list was suggested by my good friend Sally Sharp-Paulsen, who proposed that Americans who moved to Norway be called "Puffinheads", inspired by the Jimmy Buffet fans known as "Parrotheads". (And if you don't know who Jimmy Buffet is, ask Sally.) If you came here looking for information on the cute little black and white birds with the funny beaks, sorry, but the title has led you astray!
