Sea Drill: it is detected as a torpedo on sonars and radars. It has several sharp teeth and is first used to sink the H.M.S Devonshire. Bond uses it against Carver himself aboard the stealth ship, easily turning him into mincemeat
Satellite Encoder: Used to control the American navys navigation systems. Gupta uses this to hack the Devonshire GPS, making it believe it was in international waters when it was in Chinese waters. Bond takes it from the media center in Hamburg and uses it to figure out where the Devonshire sank.
Ericsson cell phone: Bond is given it together with the BMW 750. Other than calling functions, it also had a fingerprint scanner, a 20,000 volt security system (Used in a painful way on Dr.Kaufman),a lock pick in the antenna, and the remote control for the car. All functions are used.
BMW 750I V8: This luxurious BMW also included the usual Bond refinements. Machine Guns, 12 STS missiles under the roof, an electric shock to anybody who touched it, a mini-safe in the glove compartment, a metal cutter in the BMW logo, tyre spikes in the rear bumper and re-inflateable tyres at the touch of a button.
Wristwatch Detonator: Bond picks up his second Omega Seamaster in Wai Lins Q-branch. He fastens the detonator to a jar he has put a grenade in. After Gupta is killed, Bond uses is a distraction by detonating the detonator, freeing the grenade.
Mines: Bond and Wai Lin try to sink the stealth ship by setting these mines and making the ship visible on radar after they detonate. The plan fails when Wai Lin is captured by Stamper while placing a mine
HMS Devonshire: The Devonshire was a British frigate caught in Chinese waters after Henry Gupta played with their GPS. 2 MIG-29 fighters threatened it before it was finally sunk by Carver's sea drill. Based on the British Type 23 frigate.
Characters
Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce): This media baron has coverage all over the world, except China - they refused him broadcasting rights. He builds a stealth ship and sinks the H.M.S Devonshire while Chinese planes are nearby, making the British think the Chinese dropped a torpedo on the ship, before he sends a missile at one of the planes. His plan is failed during the British attack on the Chinese, when Bond makes the ship visible on radar and stops the missile heading for Beijing
Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh): Bonds first female counterpart, Wai Lin first meets both the Carvers and Bond during the launch party of the sattelite in the Hamburg media center. Then she helps Bond escape during a raid of Carvers printing presses the next morning. Then they regroup during their seperate investigations of the Devonshire. Both are captured, before they escape Carvers center in Saigon with a jaw-dropping stunt ripping the enourmous banner of Carvers face and smashing the window several stories down. They then do one of the most thrilling chases in Bond history, on the Cruiser motorcycle through Saigon before finally teaming up to sink the stealth.
Paris Carver (Teri Hatcher): Even though she is Carvers wife, Bond has a previous relationship with her. Paris is not amused with seeing Bond again during Carvers party, and the first thing she does is to slap Bond. However, she comes to Bonds hotelroom after the party and they enjoy the night. The next morning Bond gets to Carvers printing presses, and meanwhile Paris is murdered by Dr.Kaufman.
Stamper (Götz Otto): Carver's German henchman, Stamper is over 6 feet tall and has a problem with his nervous system making him feel pleasure when others would be in strong pain. After killing the survivours of the Devonshire sinking, Stamper is involved in three attempts in killing Bond: One during the party, one in Saigon and the last one aboard the stealth ship. He is killed when the missile explodes.
Henry Gupta (Ricky Jay): Gupta is technically the man who sinks the Devonshire, when he hacks the GPS. He then records Bonds and Paris's conversation at the party. After he says "press the magic button Beijing dissapears" as an answer when Carver asks if the missile is ready to launch, Carver shoots him saying he has "Outlived his contract".
Dr.Kaufman (Vincent Schiavelli): A German hitman, Kaufman is a deadly gunman who is a professor of forensic medicine and very good at torture. After murdering Paris he is killed by the electric shock from the cell phone and his own pistol when Bond points it at his head.
Prof.Inga Bergstrom (Cecilie Thomsen): A professor in Danish at Oxford, she lets Bond work on his Danish and his sexual department. Only appears in one scene
Carvers PR girl (Daphne Deckers): She makes a brief appearance as Carvers "speaker" and introducer to James Bond
